Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation IINSPIRE Program

ISU McNair Program

The overall goal of McNair programs nationally is to increase the number of underrepresented, low-income, and first-generation students receiving a Ph.D. by exposing them to research and preparing them for graduate studies. For more information, please click here.

Women in Science and Engineering (WiSE)

The WiSE Program was developed to help counteract the underutilization and underrepresentation of women in science and engineering. For more information about WiSE, please click here

University Honors Program

Through the First-Year Mentor program, Honors students work on research projects with faculty members. The Honors Program also has research grants that help support members’ capstone and other research projects. Ames Laboratory Science Undergraduate Laboratory Internship (SULI)

The SULI internship is designed to bring undergraduate students into the laboratory research setting to work with scientists who are leaders in their fields. Through this program, students can either spend 16 weeks in the fall or spring semesters or 10 weeks in the summer working in the lab and receive a stipend and on-campus housing. The Office of the Vice President for Research organizes, facilitates, and provides strategic direction to support faculty engaged in research on campus. Through collaboration and partnerships, the Office cultivates interdisciplinary research and fosters opportunities for new research initiatives.
