Mentor Training Workshops
The University Honors Program organizes a half-day early summer workshop for graduate students, post-docs and faculty who work with undergraduates in research. Many of those attending the workshops will be new to mentoring and will likely work in lab settings. The workshop is directed at helping new mentors understand cultural and communication issues, rules of behavior for both mentor and mentee, and practical information (logistics, safety, preparation, etc.) through faculty panels, a student panel, and a few case studies.
