Research in the Capitol

Student Presenting Research at the Iowa State Capitol

Advancing Ideas

Research in the Capitol is an annual event featuring undergraduate research at Iowa's Regent Universities.

This year's Research in the Capitol will be held March 31, 2025, at the Iowa State House in Des Moines.

ISU students, along with undergraduates from the University of Iowa and the University of Northern Iowa, display posters and describe their research to legislators, reporters and top university administrators, serving as ambassadors to convey the depth and variety of research being done at Iowa State.

Twenty research projects are selected each year to represent Iowa State. Submissions are evaluated by topic, relevance to legislative interests, and geographic representation.

Abstract Submissions

Submissions are open through February 21. Accepted presentations will be notified by March 7.
